Why Indian job seekers prefer Canadian employment over the U.S.
The recent study shows that highly skilled professionals from India are looking for jobs in Canada more than in the USA. The most job searches include tech jobs and IT occupations, such as data scientist, data analyst, business analyst, software developer, software engineer, Java developer, web developer. That means that the Canadian tech industry is actually “booming” these days.
According to the Indeed statistics, in the time frame between August 2016 and July 2018, the popularity of jobs in Canada and jobs in the United States changed. The number of Indian professionals interested in Canadian employment increased from 6% to 13%. However, the interest in the U.S. job opportunities dramatically decreased from 60% to 50%.
So why is this happening? There are a few reasons which the recent study has proposed. From the American side, the main downfall of their employment strategy is the uncertainty about the H-1B visa program, which had been tightened by Trump’s administration. The tendency is quite questionable, especially considering the current Canadian Global Skills Strategy. The popular Global Talent Stream is one of the most popular ways for getting a temporary work visa for skilled workers in the tech sphere, who is eligible for this program.
